A tritone is two notes with a distance of 3 whole steps apart. Use the “#” sign for a sharp and a lower case “b” for a flat. Tritones can be spelled as either raised 4th’s or flatted 5th’s. Spell all intervals as #4’s unless otherwise noted. Remember to use a “#” for a sharp and a “b” for a flat.
