Here is the C Major form pentatonic scale. The C major chord form highlighted in red.
Play it like this to start out:
*Root notes highlighted in blue.
Remember to:
- Practice the scale exactly as written above!
- Know where the chord form notes are. These are the “safe” notes and will help you play into the sound of the chord.
- Pay close attention to the fingerings! This is crucial to your success in using the scale to improvise.
- Play SLOW and ACCURATELY!!! Going too fast and making mistakes will only delay your progress!
- Practice it till you know it like the back of your hand.
- Always try recognize riffs and solo’s you may know that are using this shape. This will give you a jump start on how to make it sound good.
