3 Per String Major Scales:
3 note per string scales are great for speed and are a favorite amongst shredders and metal heads. They facilitate speed picking because there is an equal number of notes per string. I am a big fan of the CAGED method as a way to see the neck. That is why I have still labeled these 7 shapes in relation to the CAGED forms they relate to.

Helpful Tips:
- Alternate pick. Don’t double pick when crossing strings.
- Pay attention to the correct fingerings.
- Always practice them starting and ending on root notes.
- For extra speed, practice picking only the first note of each string and then hammering or pulling off the rest of the notes.
